Cook will face 30 charges from four women

The prosecution say Cook had a notebook seemingly detailing the women he was pursuing

Alec Cook will be charged Tuesday with 30-counts of criminal complaint, because he allegedly sexually assaulted four women over the past few months, a Dane County prosecutor said.

Alec Cook, 20, UW-Madison junior, was charged last week with sexual assault, and since then more women have come forward claiming he sexually assaulted them as well.

Cook has been suspended from UW-Madison and is barred from returning on campus.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, District Attorney Colette Sampson said Cook kept notebooks detailing the grooming and stalking of women.

Cook was first charged with multiple counts of sexual assault on October 19, after a woman alleged he assaulted her at his apartment earlier this month.

The Junior was released on bail and re-arrested Thursday when another woman came forward, police said.

Since then two more women have come forward, and their charges will also be put against Cook.

According to Sampson, two other women have also come forward and she expects two more charges, one for sexual assault and another for stalking.

Sampson, the prosecution lawyer, said police found more than 20 notebooks containing what is believed to be grooming and stalking techniques for a number of women, but only one of these notebooks has been reviewed by investigators so far.

Sampson said investigators are looking at these books to see if they can find any more victims.

On one of the pages was a list of the interests of women Cook was pursuing, what he would do to them, and a column simply marked, “kill,” which Sampson said has not been defined.

According to the District Attorney, investigators believe Cook has become more aggressive with each assault, and they believe he has been assaulting women since March of 2015.

Cook was in a dance class with women, and many of his misdemeanor sexual assault charges are related to this dance class.
