UW-Madison student robbed and threatened
The perpetrator threatened to kill
An 18-year-old University of Wisconsin-Madison student was robbed and threatened Sunday morning according to the Madison police.
The victim was walking on North Park Street at West Dayton when a woman came up behind her, and took her cellphone, credit cards, and ID.
Madison police said the victim and her friends attempted to get the phone back but the robber threatened to kill them. She said she had guns.
The UWPD caught the suspect, 18-year-old Melanie A. Mabiriz, and waited for Madison police to arrive.
Mabiriz has been arrested for suspicion of robbery with threat of force, underage drinking, and disorderly conduct.
