Ultimate game day playlist

‘So baby pull me closer in the backseat of your Rover…’

Game days are arguably some of the best days of the year. But can you image going to a tailgate without any music? I took it upon myself to compile a list of songs that will rock your 2016 tailgates and have you getting the aux more often. In no particular order…

Closer – The Chainsmokers

The Chainsmokers have come a long way since #SELFIE, and I think we’re all pretty thankful for their newest single featuring Halsey. Play this song, and I guarantee you’ll have every person screaming along. Plus the lyrics “we ain’t ever getting older” are a perfect backdrop for college tailgates.

All Night – Chance the Rapper

Chance has taken the rap game by storm. Though he has plenty of hits, “All Night” is best suited for your tailgates, because it’s easy to sing a long to and catchy af. Though for game days, “All Day”” might be more relevant.

No Hands – Waka Flocka Flame

“No Hands” has been around for a few years now, but I guarantee people will be getting down from the first chorus. “Wait, I forgot about this song!” they’ll say as they applaud you for your song choice and proceed to get on tables to dance.

All Night Longer – Sammy Adams

Again, “All Day Longer” might be a better name if we’re talking about game days, but this song is too classic not to have it on this list.

Do Something Crazy – Outasight

I came across this song during the opening credits of Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates where the two main characters, Zac Efron and Adam Devine, are looking hot and doing crazy stuff. Need I say more? Also the title might just some up game days in three words.

Roses – The Chainsmokers

Roses was arguably the song of 2015, and no matter how many times I listen to it, it never seems to get old.  Even though we may never hit the correct pitches, the base drop is one I hope we’ll be hearing for a long time.

House Party – Sam Hunt

I go to school in Wisconsin, so I’d be stupid if I didn’t include at least one semi-country song on this list. Also, tailgates are usually house parties so ~applicable~.

Fergalicious – Fergie

Four, tres, two, uno! You’re lying if you say you don’t know every single lyric to this song. Fergalicious will never get old, and I’d be willing to fight you on that.

Remix (Ignition) – R. Kelly

Ignition (Remix) came out 14 YEARS AGO, and yet, I still get as excited as the first time I listened to it when it comes on. What a better way to celebrate two days without classes than by shouting “it’s the freaking weekend!”

Come on Eileen – Dexys Midnight Runners

Admittedly, I love listening to old school songs no matter what day it is, but I think Come on Eileen is the perfect song to get people yelling and dancing on game days. I don’t know anyone named Eileen, but I feel like she’d appreciate this song’s spot on this list.

Jump Around – House of Pain

Simply because Jump Around is probably the greatest tradition in college football, and what’s better than jumping around with your best friends to salute the best school? *cough* UW-Madison
