UVA makes top 50 in Forbes ranking of America’s best colleges

Just the 82 places ahead of Tech

Along with schools like Harvard, Stanford and MIT, UVA has been named to the list of America’s Top Colleges by Forbes, holding position #36.

With the #2 ranked business school in the world and a consecutive top 5 listing of America’s best public universities, this ranking is no surprise.

While academics at UVA are held to a high standard, the athletics at the university are as well. UVA has won 17 NCAA titles in men’s sports, ranking first in the ACC and 4 NCAA titles in women’s sports, ranking second in the ACC. The school was awarded the Capital One Cup for the top NCAA men’s sports program in July 2015 for three national titles in baseball, tennis and soccer, and this past year the Cavalier men’s basketball team went to the Elite 8 for the first time since 1989.

Many may assume that with such a heavy course load students at UVA lack free time – however, this is definitely not the case. UVA was named the top party school in Virginia by Niche in 2016 and #45 in America. That being said, you can find the corner and Rugby Road full of students during anytime of the year, including finals.

UVA holds the highest ranking of public schools in Virginia in this year’s edition and placed #4 in Forbes Top 25 Public Colleges in America in 2015.

This ranking trumps Virginia Tech’s ranking of #118, so keep up the good work wahoos!
