Medical student found dead in residence hall after 7 days

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner's office is currently investigating the cause of death of a graduate student who went undiscovered for a week.

The Keck School of Medicine identified first year master's student in medical physiology Jacob Kelley as the deceased.

The body wasn't found until a cleaning crew arrived at Seaver Residence Hall yesterday at 1:57 p.m, according to the Department of Public Safety's daily incident log.

In a report by the Daily Trojan, Detective David Alvarez of the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division said that there were no signs of a struggle.

The body has yet to be identified.
