The best places to cry on USC campus

Just let it out

We get it life is tough. Midterms are in full swing, tensions are high and it’s that time of year when everything and everyone get’s on your nerves.

Whether you have a 10-page paper due in 2 days or the rain is giving you seasonal affective disorder, it’s important to indulge in a good cry.

Here’s a list of places to go when it all gets a bit much.

Leavey

Everyone flocks here around midterms. Come here for a feeling of camaraderie, everyone is in the same boat as you. If you want to cry, maybe head to the bathroom.

If you aren’t already crying, with everyone fueled on Adderall and coffee, the fumes alone are enough to make your eyes water.

RTCC

Give me all the food

Stress eating is real and RTCC has a plethora of food to drown your sorrows.

Cry into your orange chicken at Panda or double charburger from habit. There’s nothing that food can’t fix.

Hoose Philosophy library

Pensive

A quiet space for you to have a long think about life. With it’s church like feel, find comfort amongst the bookshelves – the dim lights can hide your tears.

The high ceiling may echo your wails though.

Hanging chair outside Gould

A hidden spot reminiscent of a swing, for those of you who want a reminder of their childhood, a time where you were stress and work free. Be wary, it seems less stable than it looks.

Seeley G Mudd roof

A great place to scream and let out a heavy sob. Maybe throw your books over the edge and watch the pages scatter across campus.

Just don’t throw yourself over.

Health centre

The health center is a common place for cryers alike. No-one will question you if you cry outside Engemann, but they might think you’ve just been diagnosed with chlamydia.

Lyon Center

You’re already feeing pretty down about yourself, why not take this up a notch and cry amongst people who have a better body than you and make you feel even worse.

Aquatic center

Maybe watching the swim team practice will liven your spirits.

If not, do a couple of laps and disguise your tears.

Rose garden

Although just off campus, it’s a perfect place to cry.

Look wistfully at the rows of dead roses that used to be beautiful and blooming. A distant reminder that you too were once energetic and full of life.

Tommy Trojan/traveler

You may be seriously considering why you even came to SC And what better way to remind you of your school pride than USC’s own mascot.

Just make sure you cry round the back so you don’t scare off the doe-eyed high schoolers on walking tours.
