UMiami is the best school in Florida, the US and probably the world

‘You don’t need to travel for spring break because we’re basically already in it’

There, I said it: UMiami is better than any other school in Florida and even America for that matter.

Yes our football team has a reputation and we may not be number one academically, but UMiami offers a college experience no one else can offer you.

Here is why UMiami is the best college on this planet.

LOCATION: We go to school in Miami – duh

It’s rare to find someone who doesn’t want to come and visit South Florida. The Miami Dade County area is known to be one of the hottest destination spots not only in the U.S, but also in the world. People travel miles to spend holidays on the warm Floridian sand to relax under its beautiful palm trees.

Hair gets lighter, skin gets darker, water gets warmer, drinks get colder, music gets louder, nights get longer, life gets better.” We’ve all read this quote on Twitter and Instagram, feeling nostalgic about our previous summers and praying for it to get here as soon as possible.

But if you are a Miami Hurricane, you don’t need to worry about summer nostalgia, because living in Miami is living the paradise all year round.

SPRING BREAK: The ultimate destination for every college student

PC: Rudgr.com

You don’t even need to travel for spring break because we’re basically already in it. More than half of college students spend their spring break in Panama City Beach, which is 500 miles away, or in Miami. With an infinite choice of nightclubs, bars, seawater activities and festivals, Miami is the ideal spot for college students to take a wild break from a hectic semester.  And of course with ULTRA, spending Spring Break in Miami at least once becomes essential for a college student.

VARIETY OF CULTURES: You make friends with everyone

With over 132 different nationalities in its student body, the University of Miami is one of the most diverse schools in the country. Students come from all sorts of ethnic and religious backgrounds and actually mix to each other.

Students who go to UM are used to meeting people whose cultures and values are completely different from theirs, and they learn how to appreciate it. What’s a more beautiful way to grow and to learn about the world we live in than living it with someone different than you?

SWIMMING POOL: You can work on your tan all year

No need to drive to the beach or wait for the weekend to get a tan when you are a Hurricane. The University provides a double-Olympic sized swimming pool to make that a daily habit for students. It is also a great way to watch the not-so-bad-looking diving team practice during the day.

NAPPING PODS: They’re expensive but worth it

The University of Miami has installed the ultimate solution for energy renewal in the Student Activities Center. It offers napping pods for students who want to take a nap throughout the day.  Nappers can then listen to a pre-programmed aural experience of ambient noise to help them relax. After 20 minutes the pod gently wakes the sleeper with soothing lights and mild noises. The system is based on research that shows short midday naps can boost productivity and health benefits.

THE CAMPUS: It’s beautiful – some even say flawless

It is hard to believe that the University of Miami’s campus is a working environment and not a resort. It is probably one of the most beautiful campuses you will ever see. It makes it hard not to want to go to school. Walking to class has finally become a delightful part of the day for Hurricanes.

THE CITY: Clubs, restaurants, and fashion oh my

There is always something to do in Miami. It’s a perfect city to explore as a student, because it has so many different activities to do and interesting people to meet. The south beach nightlife is indeed on fleek, but for those who are more interested in arts and culture, Wynwood and the Miami Design District have the coolest hipster vibes, the cutest art galleries, and the most fascinating artworks. Little Habana is also an interesting spot for those who are attracted by the Latin American foods, music and culture. For those who want a more calm and family environment during the weekend, Key Biscayne has the most agreeable parks and beaches.

SPORTS: Yes, we have the best football team

Let’s face it; Miami being home of the Heat, the Marlins and the Dolphins, the Miami Hurricanes are expected nationwide to be the best. And they are! With over 130 national wins in all football, basketball and baseball, the Miami Hurricanes are known to be excellent and perseverant athletes who wear green and orange with dignity and pride.

ALUMNI: You will be successful if you go to UMiami

The University of Miami has the prestige of having some of the best alumni in history. Dwayne Johnson, Ben Folds, Gloria Estefan, Enrique Iglesias… All Hurricanes! This probably means something, doesn’t it?
