The best places to nap on campus

We’re all in this together

With finals fast approaching, many students are starting to pull all-nighters. The stress of cramming for tests is making everyone feel exhausted. After the caffeine wears off, students opt for naps on campus instead of making the long trek back to their beds at home.

Whether it’s a 20-minute cat nap right before a final exam or an hourlong snooze fest, here are some of the most popular places to sleep on campus.

Tate Center

With large comfy chairs and love seats, the Tate Center is a great place to relax and take a nap. Students often go there because it’s in the central part of campus and it’s easy to find a spot to sleep. Make sure to bring headphones because there are normally a lot of students roaming the halls and talking. Then again, if you’re really sleepy, the noise probably won’t bother you anyway.

The Miller Learning Center

The Miller Learning Center is where most students go to study for exams. If you look into the study rooms, you often see people napping right next to their books. Students may begin studying by a computer, in a comfy chair next to Jittery Joe’s, in a study room, or in a classroom, but as soon as their eyes start to close, they’ll curl up in a ball or let their foreheads rest on the mahogany tables.

The UGA transportation system

The steady hum of a UGA bus can put anyone asleep. If you know that you have time before you get where you’re going, close your eyes and let the Orbit bus take you to some of the most obscure parts of campus while you rest your eyes.

The dining halls

Sometimes you need a meal and a good nap. So why not do both?

The downtown bars

If you need to blow off some steam after studying, you can always have a beer at Bourbon Street and take a nap in a booth surrounded by 200 of your closest friends and Bud Light pitchers.

Finals week isn’t easy for anyone. If you see a student taking a nap at one of these popular places on campus, be sure to let them rest. Take a picture of them and tag @UGASlumberParty on Twitter because we all need some comedic relief during finals season.
