Jacob Eason made the best decision by choosing UGA

He’ll have 35,000 instant friends

Football in the SEC is more than just a game, it’s a way of life. And the small population lucky enough to attend the University of Georgia gets to experience it.

Saturdays in Athens transform a bustling campus full of students with heavy backpacks to a sea of red and black mostly destined for a hangover in the morning. With so many questions surrounding the future of the UGA football program after the removal of long-time coach Mark Richt, the bulldog nation can fall back on the fact that we have secured the five-star commit, Jacob Eason.

Although there are a number of reasons to come to Georgia, here’s why he made the right decision.

He gets to play in Sanford Stadium

Each Saturday he plays between the hedges means 90,000 people screaming for him – and that’s not even including all those tuned in from thousands of miles away, crossing their fingers he makes that big play.

One thing’s for sure: every red pompom in the student section will be waving for him in 2016. The minute he steps on the field, he should prepare for even more “I love you Jacob” exclamations than he received on any of his official visits.

Our outfits are stellar

Red and black looks good on everyone, including the hefty bulldog who will try and get a bite out of anyone who messes with him. From babies to grandparents – and even man’s best friend – Jacob Eason’s closet is about to change drastically.

Athens is a classic city

Athens is the quintessential college town. There’s always something to do. From the lively downtown scene to a laid back time at any of the amazing restaurants, Athens radiates southern hospitality at all times. He won’t go a week without having a story to tell his family back home – even though some really should stay in Athens.

He’ll have tons of friends

Sure, he has made friends in his recruiting class and with current players, but he shouldn’t overlook the fact that he just made friends with 35,000 people who will be searching for him on campus. (Friend to friend, watch out for the Family Housing bus.)

He could begin a UGA dynasty

With a new coach and offensive coordinator – AND the student body on his side – he’ll have the chance to start his own dynasty and become the next player we’ll all talk about when we look back on our glory days.

Every girl has already pre-ordered his jersey for next season, so he has the chance to define this next chapter for Georgia football and recruit players who will gracefully fill his shoes once he has finished his time at UGA.

So Jacob, the bulldog nation (and every girl who attends UGA) thanks you for choosing to stay committed to the G. You’ve become a sensation in our town and that will not change once you’re officially registered as a student. These next three or four years will be the best time of your life.

Welcome to the family, Jacob.
