Nando’s is coming to Hyde Park
Time for chicken with a side order of banter
British Chicken restaurant Nando’s have officially announced they’re opening their newest Chicago restaurant in Hyde Park and British students are losing their shit.
Nando’s Peri Peri chicken restaurant is expected to open its Hyde Park location in January 2017 and it’s going to be located at the former home of Clarke’s diner on 53rd street.
Nando’s, famous for its delicious chicken and jokes culture in the UK, will join Giordano’s, Valois and Pizza Capri on 53rd Street and will become one of the many dining options for students on Saturdays when campus dining halls close.
The liquor license for Nando’s is set to be decided at a community meeting on October 11th and students are already counting down the days until they can get their dose of Nando’s in Hyde Park.

However, for those of you who want to visit a Nando’s sooner than January and get your fix of Peri-Peri, the restaurant already has six locations open in Chicago including in the loop.
So get ready UChicago because Cheeky Nando’s will be here just in time for the start of Winter quarter.
