What is the best thing about being a student at UC Berkeley? After a day of attending lectures, going to club meetings, and studying in the library, we get to go to CREAM.
That’s right – the best ice cream around the university, if not the universe, is only two blocks away from UC Berkeley’s campus.
What makes it so amazing?

CREAM is not just an ice cream shop, it is a specialty ice cream cookie sandwich delicatessen where the cookies are right out of the oven, and the ice cream is hand crafted. The smell of the cookies alone makes the mouth water as soon as crossing the threshold into this ice cream wonderland.

Like snickerdoodles? How about with salted caramel ice cream? Chocolate cookies with red velvet? You got it! From the strange to the mundane, CREAM has it all covered.

In college, it’s all about getting the most bang for your buck. This place brings joy without bringing pain to your wallet. The delightful sandwiches come out to just $2.99, so you might as well get two.
Friendly staff
Jokes and smiles abound throughout the experience at CREAM. Seriously, going here is (almost) as good as visiting the family. Plus, these guys and gals have delicious ice cream sandwiches, and they are just waiting to serve you.
Quick service
More often than not, there is going to be a line, but do not let this deter you. Cream keeps it moving with fast paced service. Within five minutes, pure bliss in the form of an ice cream sandwich is in your hands and you’re out the door.

Great location
Cream is in the heart of Berkeley, surrounded by a stunning array of spectacles to peruse while eating their delicious ice cream delicacies. Need some new music? Head to the Mad Monk. How about books? Moe’s has four stories of them. Or, just head back to the UC Berkeley campus and marvel at all those beautiful buildings.
Not the same old Reshall Softserve
Be warned: Once you eat at Cream, there is no going back to the ResHall soft serve. It does not matter if its Crossroads, Foothill, or Clark Kerr, the “ice cream” served in the dining commons just does not stack up. More often than not, the self-serve machines in the dining hall are going to be out of order anyways.
There can never be too much CREAM in your life. When the pile of papers and mid-terms got you down, CREAM brings you back up. This place is so close to campus, and so amazingly delicious, there is no reason not to to try it. Once you do, the fair prices and friendly staff ensures frequent visits.
