Berkeley has ranked 10th on the World University Rankings for 2016-2017, three places higher than last year.
The Times Higher Education Ranking measures universities across the globe based on the value of teaching, research, and international focus.
In the 2015-2016 school-year we came in 13th. Way to improve, Bears! Coming in first on the list are our UK friends at Oxford. Unfortunately, Stanford came in third – but no worries, UC Berkeley beat rivals UCLA and Yale.
To rank a university, the system calibrates 13 distinct performance indicators. Then, an independent organization, PricewaterhouseCoopers, audits the results to assure all calculations are sound and reliable.
Keep going at it Berkeley, and we can get to #1 on the list next year.
