Divergent star Ashley Judd is going to study at UC Berkeley

‘Sometimes I’m really excited, sometimes I’m like, ‘what have I gotten myself into?”

UC Berkeley will become a little more Hollywood this fall.

Actress and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, Ashley Judd, has announced she is officially a doctoral student at the Goldman School of Public Policy.

Judd previously obtained her Master’s in Public Administration with an emphasis on Gender Equality at Harvard.

According to Judd, via video, “That went really well for me, so I’ve decided to go pursue a PhD.”

“I am very esteemed and honored they accepted me. It’s the #1 public policy school in the United States. They only accept 2 or 3 students a year, and at least 50% of their students come from their own Master’s program.

“I really intend to make the very best of my time at Berkeley and do some good thinking, some rigorous research, and fill it with my typical heart and soul and see how I can continue to do my little part to make the world a better place.”

Still, the competent and capable actress shares many of the fears and uncertainty that we all experienced when taking that step to come to Berkeley.

“Sometimes I’m really excited, sometimes I’m like, ‘what have I gotten myself into?'”

But she was sure to settle one of the more pressing questions:

“Yes, I will be taking my Hello Kitty bicycle again, just like when I went to Harvard.”

Welcome to Cal Ashley.
