Berkeley is the seventh best university in the world

Are you even surprised?

The Center for World University Rankings, or CWUR, released their 2016 list of the top 1000 world universities. The CWUR is known as one of the leading global university ranking groups, and consults governments and educational departments to improve education standards.

UC Berkeley is ranked number seven in the world, just beaten by the likes of Columbia and Oxford.

It looks like our SoCal rivals UCLA and USC could not live up to Cal greatness. Among the other schools UC Berkeley beat are Princeton, Yale, Cornell, UPenn, and NYU.

Unfortunately, unsaid school across the Bay with a tree mascot did beat us by a few ranks.

The organization is the only one that publishes global universities without surveys and university data submissions. Since 2012, it’s expanded to rank the top 1000 universities of over 25,000 international institutions.

No worries, Bears  – next year we’ll be number one.
