UC Berkeley is the 12th most sleep-deprived school in America

Go (to sleep) bears!

Fitness tracking company Jawbone compiled data on how many hours students sleep at over one hundred universities nationwide.

The Jawbone app tracks how often you are restless at night in order to accurately track how much sleep you’re really getting.

UC Berkeley students averaged 6.8 hours of sleep per night, making Cal the twelfth most sleep-deprived school. The typical bedtime was 1:01am, and wake time at 8:24am. The sleepiest school in the nation is Columbia University, with students averaging 6.68 hours a night. Sleep experts recommend that students get 7-8 hours of sleep per night.

Do you find yourself struggling to keep your eyes open in lecture? Is Caffe Strada’s coffee the only thing getting you through the day?

Chances are that if you go to UC Berkeley, your sleep schedule is at best debatable.
