Students react to Matt Rhule’s switch to Baylor

“LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE”

There were rumors in the beginning of the year that Rhule had made plans to leave. But he made an announcement clearing it up:

“My team knows how I feel about them and that I want to be their coach not just this week, but next year as well.”

Rhule’s contract was renewed last December. This season marks his fourth season with the Owls as he led them to the 2016 AAC title.

But news hit the Temple community this morning that Rhule would be leaving Temple for a head coaching job at Baylor. It came right after the announcement of the bowl games.

Temple will be playing Wake Forest in the Military Bowl on December 27th. During the news conference held this afternoon athletic director, Dr. Patrick Kraft, announced that assistant coach, Ed Foley, will be interim coach for the game.

Since the announcements, students have been taking out their anger and frustration on social media. Below are a some examples of range of emotions the Temple community is experiencing right now.
