In honor of 4/20, we’ve compiled some of Temple students’ best, worst, and most average experiences with drugs. So pack a bowl and read through some of your classmates’ most memorable drug-related stories.

“The first time I smoked weed it was laced with something similar to acid, I would guess. I was in the park with my best friend and I was convinced we were in Africa. There was the circle in my vision in front of me and everything in the circle was real life, completely clear and I wasn’t tripping through that, but if I looked outside the perimeters of the circle it was completely animated. My best friend’s hair ‘grew’ from shoulder length to the floor and she became the girl from Tangled. After a few hours, I calmed down and we called my mom and she picked us up. I was trying so hard to act cool and I look over and my mom, in my mind, only has one arm. She has two arms but I was tripping balls so hard that she had one arm.”

Molly

A now frequent rave-goer on her first time

“Molly is just the best night of your frickin’ life. You feel like the DJ legit came there for you. I’m serious though. The music vibrates through your body like I swear I had eargasms, which was dope. You’re just super happy and life is rockin’ in every way.”

Born again

“I had sex on molly and now I can’t get it up sober. It was fucking amazing. But now it’s like… what now? My friend did the same thing and it’s been like six months and he’s just starting to be able to fuck again. It sucks. It was so cool, but it sucks.”

Cocaine

“The hype is real.”

“I did coke just to try it and then I kind of went through a coke phase. It was not good. Like, to be more clear, it was bad. Don’t do it kids.”

“I stole a street cone and almost got arrested. I’d do it all again if I could.”

“I got coke from a pharmacist on spring break and it was so much better than any coke I’ve done in the US.”

“Cocaine was cool. My heart almost exploded and my eyes almost fell out of my head but it was still fun.”

Shrooms

“I ate shrooms when I was drunk. I wouldn’t have normally done it if I was sober but, you know, yolo. So I took them and then watched Zoolander- the first one (please write down that it was the first one) – the entire thing was animated. All of it. I just sat there and tried to convince myself that Zoolander is a movie with real people but my brain just wasn’t having it. Clay-mation. Clay-mation all way through.”

“Ate shrooms with an Insomnia cookie and went to the Vance Joy 104.5 concert. Overall it was a great day and an awesome experience.”

Acid

“It was super cool. I hallucinated the trees were people chasing me.”

Adderall

“I got addicted to adderall. I started out using it occasionally when I had a lot to study or a long paper just to bang it out, but then I started buying it more often then I needed, and then I would bring it out with me and snort it before I drank so I would rage longer. It became an everyday thing that wasn’t prescribed but I felt like I needed it. I felt like shit without it.”

“I’m prescribed to it. I need it to focus to get through the day. It kind of sucks. It takes away my appetite. Sometimes I’m nauseous because of it, but I need it.”

“I was so scared of it for a really long time. First time I ever did it (like a week ago), I had to smoke weed so I wouldn’t bug out and could focus on my work. I got everything done though. The adderall cotton mouth is WAY worse than any other drug too.”

“It was the best. I dissociated and watched myself party.”

“First and only time I did ketamine was on Beury Beach at night. Not sure why I haven’t done it since honestly because I was completely relaxed for the first time in my life.”

“It feels like your levitating, or like walking on clouds.”
