The unofficial Temple vs. Iowa drinking game

Turn on the game and start turning up

March Madness is back and the excitement has already begun. Our Owls are taking on Iowa at 3pm today and seeing our school in the big dance for the first time in three years is sure to be a thrill.

If you get stuck watching the game on TruTV with your ass firmly planted in your couch like me (because you couldn’t afford the $100 tickets either), then you might be looking for something to spice things up a bit. Don’t worry, we’ve has you covered.

This is the official unofficial guide to the Temple vs. Iowa drinking game. Sure, it’s St. Patrick’s day weekend, but any reason to drink more is a good one, right? Right. So, without further ado, here are the rules:

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 large TV
  • 1 large couch
  • 1 bottle of vodka (or your hard alcohol of choice)
  • 1 12-pack of beer (just in case you need more)
  • hella snacks

How to Set Up

  1. Gather supplies from fridge (alcohol) and pantry (snacks)
  2. Plant ass firmly in couch
  3. Pray for a Temple upset
  4. Turn channel to TruTV
  5. Continue praying
  6. Watch Temple play while getting hammered

How to Play:

  • Take a sip for every Temple turnover
  • Take a shot at every timeout
  • 3 sips for every deep contested 3-pointer Devin Coleman takes
  • Whenever Mark Williams touches the ball on offense; take a shot (trust me, you’ll need it)
  • 2 sips for every Temple dunk
  • Waterfall for the entire duration of every Fran Dunphy freak-out
  • Sip after every missed Temple free-throw (this rule is gonna be the one that gets you)
  • Finish your drink if Temple loses
  • Last but certainly not least, if Mike Robbins gets into the game then take 22 shots – same as his jersey number. If that happens, though, Temple will be down by 20 and you’ll need that many shots to help you get over the Owl’s first round exit from the tournament.

Well, there you have it. The officially unofficial guide to making Temple’s March Madness game the perfect start to St. Patrick’s Day weekend. This is a surefire way to turn on the game and turn up, all at the same time! What more could you want?
