DEFEND THE FUTURE

Temple students have the advantage of attending school in a city which places huge importance on public arts.

Philadelphia has over 3,000 murals, some of them the size of the buildings they cover. Not wanting to be left out of participating in decorating the city, some of North Philadelphia’s community members, both students and locals, have taken it upon themselves to cover the area in some art of their own.

Whether the work is meaningful and artistic, random block lettering, or just vulgar, it definitely livens up the monotony of row houses off campus.

So, The Tab compiled a list of some of our area’s coolest and strangest graffiti art, most of which you have probably passed on your way to or from class. So sit back and enjoy some art, vandalism or whatever you want to call it.
