SU senior and Phi Kappa Psi brother passes away after car crash

Syracuse University senior and Phi Kappa Psi brother Vin Maugeri has passed away early this morning after a terrible car accident last week. Maugeri was in critical condition up until the time of his death.

The horrible car crash occurred on October 15, at 4:36am on Erie Boulevard, when vehicle went off the road into several parking lots while hitting a portable generator and a parked car. The official Syracuse Police Department release states that the vehicle caught on fire, and it took several attempts before successfully opening the driver’s door and preparing medical assistance.

Friends of Maugeri are using the #AllInForVin to show support, and changing their social media pictures to photos with/of Maugeri.

The accident occured right before Phi Psi’s Safe Driving Week, in honor of their brother, Hunter Watson, who died in a car accident this past summer.
