Fall fashion spotlight

Check out this week’s fashionista/os’

Whether you’re a freshmen or a senior, you’ve noticed Syracuse students are far more fashion forward than the usual college student.

With temperatures dropping fast, the goal is to wear your skirts for as long as possible while utilizing the magic of layering.

Introducing Syracuse’s best dressed of the week:

Angela Liu, senior Business Management major

What’s your favorite fall accessory this season?

My favorite fall accessory are over-knee boots they go perfectly with an oversized coat and a long white shirt. This has always been my favorite outfit for the season.

Taylor Hicks, junior Illustration and Biology major

Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?

Loud colors and crazy patterns are what I usually go for. The louder the colors-the stronger I stand. The crazier the patterns, the more confident I feel. It’s weird but its really how I pick my outfits/wardrobe. I’m never caught without a bright color/or crazy pattern.

Tan Erginay, senior Advertising major

What are you closet essentials in preparing for the winter?

Obviously with a wind chill powered by jet engines, staying warm is key, which unfortunately means bulky winter coats. That means scarves and boots are going to have to do most of the heavy lifting style-wise, go with some some color to contrast the dark coats.

Alessandra Sandhaus, junior Television, Radio, & Film major

Where is your favorite store to shop in?

My favorite place to shop is LA-based boutique Polkadots and Moonbeams. Half their store is vintage and the other half is all new so I’m almost always able to find what I’m looking for.

Gigi Quaye, sophomore Policy Studies major

How would you describe your style?

Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself. I am a low-maintenance person, and so is my style. When I wake up, whatever I’m feeling like that day, is how I dress.

Collin Gardinrer, junior Television, Radio, & Film major

What’s the most you’ve splurged on a piece of clothing or accessory?

Senior year of high school I was making more money than I knew what to do with at my first job and ended up splurging on a $400 pair of Selima Optique Sunglasses. Now there’s times where I can barely afford Chipotle guac and wonder what could have been…suffer for fashion, I guess.

Wanjin Tang, junior Education major

Who are your favorite designers?

My favorite designers are Valentino and Coco Chanel.

Eve Long, senior Accounting major

What kind of clothes do you usually wear to class?

I normally wear business casual clothes to class. Since I am a business major master student, I need be prepared for all possible social network events. I normally wear flats, short boots as comfortable as possible. I like long trench, its good fitted and keep myself warm.
