Princeton is the highest ranked Ivy on Forbes’ top US colleges

Take that Harvard

Screen-Shot-2015-10-12-at-10.14.07Forbes (no, not the res college) released its annual college rankings list today and ranked Princeton at number three.

The only schools ranked higher than Old Nassau were Stanford and Williams College. Princeton managed to beat out every other school in the Ivy League as well as other great schools like MIT and UC Berkeley. The other Ivies ranged from Harvard, which ranked 4th, to Cornell which finished at 29th. Princeton has, of course, long been well-known as one of the best universities in the nation and we had yet another strong showing today.

Over the years, many of society’s greatest members have passed through Princeton, including Woodrow Wilson, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Michelle Obama. Another notable Princeton alum is Steve Forbes, founder and CEO of Forbes Magazine.

Part of the reason for the strong rankings Princeton garners year after year is our focus on undergraduate education, resulting in more of the universities resources being directed toward undergraduates rather than to a medical school or law school, as is often the case at other universities. Combine an undergraduate focus with our outstanding faculty and a 6:1 student-to-faculty rate, and it all but guarantees us a great ranking every year.

Third place is a respectable showing, even if US News and World Report still says we’re the best.
