‘A park for well-heeled intellectuals’: What Yelp and Trip Advisor say about us

‘Very satisfying prep-watching experience’

Apparently, Princeton is one of 41 “things to do in Princeton,” and the internet critics of the world can’t keep quiet about it.

It’s refreshing to hear some outside perceptions of the campus and its students. They are unbiased in their evaluations, except of course the people who flock from Rutgers to explain why Princeton is a mid-tier institution.

Listen closely to what these guys have to say. You might learn something about yourself.

First up we’ll see how we fared on Trip Advisor.

These reviewers don’t pull any punches. They get straight to the point, evaluate our worth as an academic institution based on the aesthetics of our buildings, and move on.

It was merciful of them to rank us #1 of things to do in Princeton, and even to toss a Certificate of Excellence our way.

They’re onto us.

It’s as simple as that, guys. While you were wasting your time sweating over common app essays at 2am and retaking your SATs, you could have just been signing up for Princeton’s Make-Your-Own-PhD-Slash-Golf-Course Summer Camp Degree. Suckers.
 Just a great subject line.

We are compromised. Alex0001 has somehow discovered the one loophole in Princeton’s otherwise impenetrable security system.
Give the people what they want! Which is to read our books for free!
I’m not sure why it feels so weird when TripAdvisors refer to us as “the kids.” It feels weirder that they think of us as J.K. Rowling enthusiasts who need to be patronized like Twilight fans.
Why does Rutgers continue to insist on kicking us while we’re down!?
Fair point, GraceFulat40. Admittedly, our weather is not our strong suit. Then again, I’m concerned someone whose profile picture is just a Caribbean beach might be slightly biased in and maybe even hyper fixated on this department.
Please tell me more about these “many other destinations in New Jersey that are well worth the special trip.”

We are just all hopelessly isolated and unaware of the world around us.

The good folks over at Yelp are more dedicated to their craft.

They are passionate, refined, and ruthless. Yelpers demand a high standard of excellence in their campus walk-throughs, and they make no exceptions.

These reviews tend to be much more thorough than their Trip Advisor counterparts, and also a lot more insane.

Four and a half stars. Not to shabby guys.

This dude spends a lot of time on Yelp and doesn’t like us that much.

Sage advice from a person I can only hope exists.

This guy’s obviously never been to the OA dance! Boom.
Right back atchya, Harry  H. 😉
