‘Go blue for Pittsburgh Police’ event on Wednesday
A change of pace for Pitt students
On Wednesday, December 2nd, members of the community will be wearing blue to show their support for police officers.
According to the Facebook event hosted by Rebecca Yvonne Foran, “In light of recent events in which officers across the country have been distracted from their duties, harassed, and defamed by non-peaceful protestors… Let’s show our appreciation and dress in blue for those officers who are doing their best to ensure campus safety and maintain order in our communities.”
A full-fledged event was not organized due to “stress of dealing with protests that such an event would attract here on campus.”
