Simple study snacks that will help you avoid the freshman 15

Are you poor, hungry, and studious? So are most college students

Like most college students, I get hungry very easily. Throughout my college years I have struggled through days and nights of studying on an empty belly and let me tell you, it’s the worst.

Sometimes we don’t realize the importance of getting proper nutrition, especially when you are using up all your brain power and I thought of some snacks that don’t destroy your health.

Cheese and crackers

The ultimate life snack. I don’t remember a time where I  wasn’t eating this. It’s simple, quick, and you can take it to the library. Buy your favorite cheese and grab some classic Ritz crackers and hit the books.

Fruit salad

Everyone always forgets that produce is cheap too. Grab a piece of fruit, or a few, and snack on that. Super healthy and super quick.

Pita chips and hummus

Definitely underrated and surprisingly filling. There are a variety of delicious flavors of hummus, as well as pita chips. Try something new!

Regular salad

Veggies need love too. You can get creative with it. Add your favorite veggies to a spinach or lettuce based salad and top it off with a delicious vinaigrette. If you’re feeling ballsy, add some fruit or even an egg for a great source of protein.

Smoothies

It took me awhile to get into these. I thought they would taste gross since I am not a professional smoothie maker but I was wrong. They are delicious even without adding sugar. But go ahead, add that sugar. You get a great source of fruit for the day and fill ya belly up.

Popcorn

Now who doesn’t love that? It’s surprisingly good for you. Go grab a bag and throw it in the microwave, or just eat Skinny Pop.
