Pitt Students will march from Cathy to Downtown Pittsburgh next Wednesday

The march is in response to the election outcome

Next Wednesday, November 16th, starting at 9:30pm, there will be a march on Downtown Pittsburgh. The march is in response to the outcome of the Presidential election, which Donald Trump won. It will begin at the Cathedral of Learning and will continue down Fifth Ave. until it reaches Downtown Pittsburgh.

The event, publicized on Facebook, was created by the group “Pitt Protest”. Already, over 550 people are expected to attend, with more and more people responding every minute. The event has also garnered the interest of nearly 1,500 more, according to Facebook.

Here is what the event description reads:

“We will march downtown and make our voices heard. We march for those who will be told in the coming days that they are not equal. We march for those who will be and have been told they are less than human. We march because we care about one another no matter our gender, skin color, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity.”

You can RSVP to the event here.
