We asked Pitt students about their party fails

Friday night, turn down?

Ah, it’s finally the weekend. Classes are done for the week and as the night sky darkens, Pitt gets lit in more ways than one. Most of us know this feeling of excitement to celebrate the hard work of class being (temporarily) over. Antoon’s is preparing for the hoards of hungry students in the late night hours, while cops drive around keeping the streets safe.

I asked fellow students about their biggest party embarrassments in South Oakland and some were cringeworthy. Names have been changed.

Molly*:

“I was going out with my friends o-week of freshman year, and it was my first party ever so I was pumped to get the college experience. I ended up getting too drunk and jumped out of a window into the neighbor guy’s backyard party and little did I know, there was broken glass all over the ground. My arm was bleeding profusely, and I was humiliated. I ran to the bathroom and cleaned it up but after that, I stayed away from that house for the rest of my college partying adventures.”

Jake*:

“My buddies and I decided to throw a party to celebrate my 20th birthday and invited a bunch of girls. The music was bumpin’, and I got fairly wasted before the party had even started. I guess the music and guests were ‘too loud’ and the cops showed up. Because it was my house, I had to talk to them. My nerves got the best of me, and I puked all over my shoes. Needless to say, I got in some trouble that night. What a birthday celebration.”

Dave*:

“I had the great idea of jumping on a car and walking across it, but I shattered the glass.”

Hannah*:

“A guy from Tinder asked me out and I agreed. We decided to go to his place after dinner to ya know. I had some tequila in my bag and offered him some. He accepted and after two shots, he turned to me and said you’re sexier now that I am drunk. I smacked him and ran to my dorm in tears while people awkwardly stared at me. I’m still horrified.”

Crystal*:

“Pretty recently I was drinking with my friends and crush. I got absolutely trashed and wanted to go to cathy and join the club. I kept whining (according to my friends), and my crush wasn’t up for that. It was completely embarrassing. I don’t think I’m going to be with him anytime soon, or ever.”

Grant*:

“I threw a party and no one came.”

Zoe*:

“So this really cute guy invited me out to his friend’s Halloween party, and I went with my roommate. We were drinking and dancing and having a great time, and then the guy comes up and starts dancing with me from behind. He leads me away to a different room in the house, and we started having sex. Suddenly we hear a loud banging on the door, and I hear a voice yelling my name. We open the door, and it’s my roommate. She broke her heels, and I got ‘blue balls’. Never really forgave her for that.”

Even though sometimes partying can lead to undesirable outcomes, I don’t think most can imagine Pitt without it. #H2P!
