Pitt student gets stuck between two buildings before class even starts

That’s one way to start the semester off

Early Tuesday morning, Pitt student, Grant Birdsong, found himself lodged between two buildings while trying to impress a date.

After taking a woman up to the roof of building, the man reportedly tried to impress her while jumping across rooftops. However, Birdsong missed, and managed to get stuck in a narrow crevice between Qdoba and Bruegger’s Bagels after falling three stories.

The woman then called 911 and waited for emergency responders. Responders were unable to remove the man from the crevice after several hours of attempting to get him out. At that point, responders were forced to break down the wall of Qdoba in order to release Birdsong.

Birdsong was not removed from the buildings until around 6am Tuesday morning, four hours after he became stuck. It is believed Birdsong was taken to UPMC Presbyterian with merely a broken ankle.

Pittsburgh Public Safety director Wendell Hissrich states that while stuck, the man was still “able to move his extremities,” and remained in “good shape.”

According to WTAE Pittsburgh, Qdoba may potentially “remain closed for two weeks, while crews repair the walls.”

We are just glad Birdsong is OK so he can turn this into a funny college story for years to come.
