I met the love of my life on Tinder

It all started with one message…

Disclaimer: We both did not join tinder for the purpose of ‘hooking up’.

On September 1st of 2014 I was working on my biology homework when my phone lit up with a notification. Little did I know that my entire life would change drastically. This guy named Greg matched with me on Tinder. OK, so initially I was thinking, “ugh, maybe it is another guy who just wanted to hook up and get ‘special’ pictures.”

To my pleasant surprise, it was the total opposite of that. When I read his message, my eyes widened and I had to read it twice because I did not believe what I was reading: “You are incredibly beautiful but true beauty is on the inside, tell me about yourself.”

OK, maybe now that I look back on it I realize that it was a little bit cheesy, but I don’t care.

After developing a friendship and talking every day for two months, we decided to meet up. From the second we met in person, I got this feeling that I was in a different world: how could someone like him like someone like me?

The second time we went on a date he looked into my eyes, held my hand and said, “Be my girlfriend.” I don’t think I ever answered a question (or I guess, statement?) so quickly in my entire life. I was/ still am head over heels for Greg. I mean, how couldn’t I be? He’s brilliant, handsome, sweet, and every positive adjective in the dictionary. I could go on and on, but I’ll spare the details.

We have been in a relationship for a year and a half and couldn’t be happier, thanks to Tinder. I truly think that I never would have found someone like Greg without making that download the tinder app.

So, if even I can find love online, you can as well! If you are single and want to find someone in your area, then I truly recommend downloading Tinder, or a similar app. Yes, I admit there is a stigma that Tinder is only for hooking up, but PLEASE don’t let that prevent you from meeting your possible future soulmate. It’s just not worth missing that chance.
