The definitive guide to voting on Pitt’s campus

We’ve broken down all the candidates just for you

Primary day is an exciting time, and for many students on campus, this is our first presidential primary we will be participating in.

Remember to bring your ID, and that you in no way can campaign inside the polling location. Phones also need to be turned off! If you are denied access to a ballot, make a fuss. Do not accept to vote on anything that is not the machine. Do not accept voting on an affidavit ballot. Please consider double checking your registration and screen-shotting it to bring with you. You can do that here. You can also find your polling location through that link.

Polls are open until 8pm tonight!

Please note – these are not the only candidates running in the state, but if you are registered on Pitt’s campus, these are the people in your district that you will be picking from. Each candidate is linked to their campaign website.

President

*Third parties do not have primaries to elect candidates, and independent voters cannot vote in PA’s primaries.

US Representative

US Senator

**These are the incumbent candidates.

You will also be asked to vote on the forced retirement ages for Judges in PA (on whether you support raising it from 70 to 75), as well as whether you support abolishing the Philadelphia Traffic Court or not.

No matter your political views, make sure you vote. Your vote does count.

As FDR said, “Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote, except the American people themselves; and the only way they could do this is by not voting.”
