Wawa and family: What are you most thankful for?

We hit the streets to ask college kids just what they were thankful for this holiday season. Surprisingly, no one said beer

November in State College is marked by diminishing meal points, temperamental weather, 100 days til THON and the White Out game. Come the Saturday before Thanksgiving, you’ll see the roads crowded with students rushing to get the hell out of here and finally relax on their week long fall break.

But now that you’re all cozy at home and stuffing your face with not just real food (thank god for a break from Easy Mac) but the best kind of food, it’s time to take a step back to acknowledge what you’re thankful for.

The Tab asked some students what they were thankful for amid their frenzied fall break packing and planning.

Emily Bickle, Sophomore, Global Studies and French

“I’m thankful for family and getting a week off of exams.”

Danielle Somerville, Freshman, Education and Public Health

“I’m thankful for getting to go back to Wawa.”

Anny Chen, Freshman, Forensics

“Friends and family, of course.”

Brandon Garcia, Junior, Biodmedical Engineering

“Family and friends.”

Nika Belinsky, Sophomore, Broadcast Journalism

“I’m thankful for being able to go home to a really warm place and for my dog.”

Martin Luo, Freshman, Engineering

“My parents and my friends.”

Rachel Donnely, Sophomore, Elementary Education

“Thankful for my family.”

Sarah Suh, Freshman, Business

“I’m thankful for my mom’s cooking and can’t wait to go home for break to all of her delicious home cooked meals.”

Katherine Kauffman, Junior, Hospitality Management and Kayla Aungst, Junior, Criminology

“We’re thankful for each other!”

Colleen Brady, Freshman, Finance

“I’m thankful for all of the firsts I’ve made in college so far!”

Erika Pugh, Freshman, Finance

“I am thankful for my parents and all of the emotional, and let’s be real, FINANCIAL, support they give me.”

So, bundle up, enjoy the precious time with friends, family, and food, cause when you get back it’s straight into finals week and microwavable meals. Catch up on sleep while you can.
