Dear walkers, you’re all assholes

Sincerely, drivers

Dear Walkers of Downtown State College,

I’ve had it with your shit.

You guys do not own the road. When you see that orange hand, and that traffic light turns green, your ass better stay on your side of the road until you see the little walking guy.

There was literally a kid that stood in front of my car the other day and was waiting for me to drive. No, I’m not going to pay your tuition, sorry bucko. I’ve been at this campus for 11 weeks now. I have never had to be so cautious in my whole life.

Like, you guys are college students, where’s your brain at? Driving downtown is crazy enough because of all the stop-and-go since we only have 2 lanes with 600 traffic lights in one mile. I already have to worry about the drivers around me trying to make quick turns, shift lanes, avoid buses.

But then you guys go ahead and make it 10 times worse. I feel like everybody who doesn’t understand basic traffic laws needs to re-visit Kindergarten or maybe take a campus safety course.

Worse than driving downtown is driving through campus. Half the time I want to jump out of my car just to get hit myself and avoid the stress of it all.

When you see me driving and there are no stop signs for me or a crosswalk for you, do not, I repeat, do NOT start walking across the street. You can’t just make up your own rules as you go, because if you cross the street close enough to my car, I won’t be able to stop in time and I will not be sorry J.

Everybody knows about defensive driving, but maybe it’s time for some people to learn defensive walking? Just an idea. I’m honestly surprised not that many accidents happen here involving pedestrians, but the drivers have probably learned to be so cautious. I am a walker as well and I get that when that orange hand goes up, I stay in my place until it changes back to the little white walker.

Moral of the story: Stop being so damn stupid.

Sincerely,

Frustrated Driver Who Has No Time For Your Shit
