Stop what you’re doing and rejoice! Uber could be coming back to Eugene

Eugene city councilors discuss reinstating Uber’s services

On November 13th, Eugene city councilors gathered together to discuss changes that could be made to city policies in order to allow Uber to bring its services back to Eugene.

The discussion of Uber's possible return became a topic of interest after the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce began a campaign urging the city councilors to change the city codes that had hindered Uber's chances of servicing the Eugene-Springfield area.

On the first day of the campaign, over 100 emails were sent to city council members advocating for Uber's return.

This topic has been strayed away from within council meetings since Uber failed to get a license of service from the city of Eugene over two years ago.

Uber serviced the Eugene-Springfield areas from July 23, 2014 through April 5, 2015.
