Puerto Rican Student Association collecting donations for Hurricane Maria aid

Proceeds will benefit United for Puerto Rico

The Puerto Rican Student Association at Ohio State will be holding a fundraiser Monday, October 2nd to collect donations for those affected by Hurricane Maria.

The fundraiser will take place in the Ohio Union next to bronze Brutus from 9am to 5pm. Proceeds will benefit United for Puerto Rico, a relief effort brought forth by the First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rossello.

Suggested donations include nonperishable food, hygiene products, batteries, diapers, baby food, first-aid kits, laundry detergents, baby wipes, etc.

Puerto Rico was devestated by hurricanes Irma and Maria. Nearly 95 percent of homes and businesses on the island were damaged or destroyed by the storms. Citizens were forced to flee their homes and now are in dire need of assistance.

Direct donations can be made here if you're interested in donating but unable to take part in the fundraiser.
