Beer sales in the Shoe could exceed one million dollars by the seasons’ end

Yeah, we like to drink beer

Remember when we had to sneak flasks or those mini bottles of liquor inside the stadium just to keep our buzz during the game? That all changed this year after Ohio Stadium announced it would be selling beer at football games for the first time ever.

Domestic beer such as Bud light, Budweiser and Miller Light come in 16 oz. cans and costs $8 per beer, while a 12 oz. can of locally brewed Stiff-Arm by the Land Grant Brewing Company costs $9. Although Stiff-Arm may be smaller in size, it should be noted that it has the highest ABV at 6.4%.

Currently Ohio State fans have consumed $412,000 worth of beer during the first three games of the season. That is roughly $137,333.33 per game. Currently Buckeye fans are on pace to purchase $961,333.33 worth of beer.

It is feasible to think fans will consume more alcohol considering the weather will get colder and the schedule is back-loaded with the some of the biggest games of the year against Nebraska and Michigan.

The proceeds from the beer sales inside “The Shoe” will go towards the university hiring four full-time police officers.

So keep on drinking Buckeye fans and let’s break the $1 million goal!
