That’s right, it’s not the current Republican or Democratic front-runner
Have you ever wondered who your peers and professors have been supporting through the presidential campaign?
The earliest donation was made in August 2015 – well after the major candidates had declared their run – and the most recent one this February. When it came to the top recipient, it was a candidate you’d (probably) least expect:
John Kasich
The Ohio governor received three donations for a combined total of $3,250.
Hillary Clinton
The former Secretary of State received five donations for a total of $2,200.
Ted Cruz
The Texas senator received four donations for a total of $1,200.
Ben Carson
The renowned neurosurgeon, who ended his campaign on March 4, received one donation for a total of $500.
Bernie Sanders
The Vermont senator received one donation of $200.
Donald Trump
The businessman/human orangutan received 0 donations for a total of $0. Sad!
