Body in Scioto River identified as OSU alum Joey Labute Jr.
LaBute, 26, was last seen leaving Short North bar, Union Cafe on the evening of March 5th
The Franklin County coroner has identified the body found in the Scioto River as Joey Labute, Jr.
Labute’s body was discovered by the Columbus Police dive team at 1pm on Tuesday, near Interstate 71 and Greenlawn Avenue.
LaBute, 26, was last seen leaving Short North bar, Union Cafe on the evening of March 5th.
Police used dental records to confirm the body was that of Joseph “Joey” LaBute Jr., a 26-year-old male and 2011 Ohio State alumnus.
