Hillary shakes off health scare at North Carolina rally

‘Nobody will accuse me of quitting’

After recovering from what her camp called “a mild, non contagious form of pneumonia”, Hillary Clinton returned to the campaign trail today in the battleground state of North Carolina.

“What I first thought was a cough turned out to be pneumonia!” she told to a crowd of 1,500 at the Recreation Center of UNC-Greensboro.

“People accuse me of all types of things it seems nowadays, but nobody will accuse me of quitting.”

During Hillary’s absence from the campaign both the media and her GOP rivals have increased questions about her role in the ongoing private email server investigation and also her health.

Just this morning at campaign event in New York, Trump quipped: “Hillary can’t even stand up here and talk for an hour like I can.”

She mostly downplayed both of these topics in her remarks which I couldn’t happen but notice were much shorter than at other events.

But this could possibly be due to campaign scheduling, as nothing about her appearance and mannerisms indicated anything was out of the ordinary.

As the event was held on a college campus, education was one of the central points in Clinton’s speech, particularly a student health insurance program.

“Student loans and their child’s insurance are certainly a big deal to all of your parents, and they should definitely be for you president!” declared the former Secretary of State during her speech.

She also stressed the details of all her proposed policies were present on her website, continuing to imply that Trump has no clear plan and just says what people want to hear.

The remainder of her speech focused on her emphasizing her opposition to the controversial House Bill 2, her plan for education and also fixing wage and income inequality.

“We don’t need a president who wants to lay people off and lower the minimum wage, we need a president who knows Americans need a raise!”

The recreation center was packed with a diverse and lively crowd filled mainly with students but also veterans and retired citizens expressing their support for Clinton.

“I think she’s good and healthy, the most readily qualified candidate for President by far,” said James Basnight, a 65-year-old retired Army veteran.

Everybody wasn’t there for Hillary, however. The rally was disrupted by Trump supporters more than once, one in response to Hillary criticizing Trump’s recent comments about foreign policy.

A small group of GOP supporters gathered outside and made their opinions on Clinton known, featuring signs reading “Hillary for Prison” and “I am a deplorable,” referring to recent comments by the former secretary of state that attracted strong criticism.
