Man in ISIS costume and ‘toy’ gun spotted on UMich campus

He wasn’t arrested because he didn’t commit a crime

A man in an ISIS costume was stopped by campus police today for questioning.

At around 6pm Sunday he was spotted by several students near Main St. Eyewitnesses say he was dressed in a white robe, waving a flag with the word “ISIS” on it and carrying what onlookers believed to be an AK-47.

Campus police stopped the man near the Diag for questioning, where a spokeswoman for the UMPD police says they discovered the man was wearing a costume and the gun he was carrying was “a toy.”

The spokeswoman told The Tab that the man was not arrested, as he hadn’t committed a crime.
