UMich ranked second best value college in America

We were behind only Princeton University

TIME recently ranked hundreds of four-year U.S. colleges and universities that deliver the most value. UMich was ranked second on TIME MONEY’s rankings, behind only Princeton, and up from being number 18 in 2015.

This ranking is based off of which colleges and universities offer a great education at an affordable price and looks at 24 factors in three categories: educational quality, affordability and alumni success.

At second place nationwide, UMich was ranked higher than most all colleges across the U.S., including Harvard (number 3), UCBerkeley (number 5), and Stanford (number 10).

Michigan State, at number 54, and Michigan Technological University, at number 90, were the only other Michigan-based universities to be in the top 100, while University of Maryland (number 19) and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (number 22) were the next-highest ranked institutions from the Big Ten.

We may have narrowly missed out on topping this year’s list, but we’ll be sure to claim that spot for ourselves next year.
