Michigan has one of the top 50 most powerful alumni networks

Go Blue!

Think the University of Michigan population can fit in one Big House stadium? Think again.

According to a recent list released by Best College Values, Michigan ranks 17th out of the 50 most powerful alumni networks in the nation, falling short of UNC-Chapel Hill at 16th and edging past UVA at 18th.

To make the list, researchers traced the amount of financial donations made to each school, and also studied the success of the alumni network, including how many graduates now held senior positions and what the post-graduation employment rate was for students.

They found not only is the number of former Wolverines massive, but alumni have powerful positions in the workforce, too — which is great news for all us lowly undergrads who are scrambling for internships and careers after graduation.

So the next time you shed your Michigan skin at a sunny beach in Florida and see someone pass by with a Block M hat, shout “Go Blue!” You never know where it might lead you.
