Spartans selected in the first round of the NFL
Conklin’s going on to the big leagues
Back in February, seven Spartans attended the NFL Combine. They all preformed quite well and did nothing but help their draft stock. Now tonight, so far one of our Spartans have been selected in the first round.
Pick 8 – The Tennessee Titans – Jack Conklin
Trading up to take the Brown’s eighth pick spot, the Titans select Jack Conklin. With the tenacious Offensive Tackle Jack Conklin, the titans should be in good shape to protect their gunslinger. Conklin will be a good fit with other veteran linemen, and using his lower body strength and quick reaction speed, he should make enormous impacts this season.
With the second through seventh rounds continuing this weekend, hopefully our other Spartan prospects will also be selected. Look out for Shilique Calhoun, Connor Cook, Aaron Burbridge, Jack Allen, Lawrence Thomas, and Joel Heath in the coming days.
