The ultimate MSU bucket list

It’s time to go out with a bang

Whether you’re a graduating senior or a freshman, its never too early to start checking off items on the MSU bucket list. Check out some things that you’ll regret missing:

Take a pic with Sparty, both the statue and the mascot. It is basically a right of passage to hangout with these two hunky men at least once.

Eat at every dining hall at least once. It’s like a bar crawl, but for food. So it’s arguably better. Just make sure to do this one when you still have a meal plan or else it might get a little pricey.

Try all of the Dairy Store ice cream flavors at least once. Although it might require some dedication, it would be well worth it to try all the tasty concoctions our campus creamery has to offer.

Be able to identify all of the buildings on campus. To this day, there are still buildings that are only identifiable to those who have classes in them. Hopefully by the end of four years, you’ll know this entire campus like the back of your hand.

Attend at least one football and basketball game. Having one of the Nation’s top teams in both sports, it is practically sacrilegious to not support our Spartan athletes at least once.

Better yet, sit front row. To make the experience truly unforgettable, make sure you commit. Get there hours before the gates open, withstand typical Michigan weather, and earn that front row spot.

Take a pic with Izzo and Dantonio. If you’re gonna support these amazing teams, you gotta love the men behind the magic too.

Go to Rama at least once. Although you might have to take Thursday off, you won’t feel too guilty about skipping class once you’re a few pitchers deep.

Feed a duck and a squirrel. These little cuties would be our school mascot if it wasn’t for Sparty. The least you can do is throw them a snack every once and a while.

Schedule at least one semester with no Friday classes. It is a truly liberating feeling to be able to relax on a Friday. And it provides a whole day to get over the Rama hangover.

Take a swim in the Red Cedar. While the river is gorgeous, it is typically not revered as an elite swimming spot. But that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying it.

Participate in the midnight scream. Somewhat of an odd way to express our exam stress, but it is oddly satisfying.

Visit the MSU Museum. Easily one of the most underrated spots on campus. The displays are always changing and its a cool place to relax right in the middle of campus.

Go to at least one concert on campus. The campus organizations do a surprisingly good job of getting big names on campus.

Attend the Izzone Campout. The weather will likely be bad. And it will likely be cold. But its only once a year that you have the opportunity to sleep in the same place as Tom Izzo and the basketball team.

Walk through the Botanical Gardens. Again, an underrated gem, that is relaxing af.

Paint the rock. Even if the rock will only remain that way for a day or two, your mark will be forever immortalized on campus in that layer of paint.

Go out to a different bar each night of the week. Coordinate what bars have what deals what night and coordinate a week that will live in infamy (or leave you in an infirmary).

Visit Beaumont Tower. Such an iconic landmark on campus is worth taking a tour of.

Investigate an urban legend on campus. Is there really a ghost in Mayo Hall? Do the underground tunnels really connect to Munn? Is the aforementioned museum haunted due to Saint’s Rest?

Celebrate a win in Cedar Village. Whether we are burning couches or throwing bagels, Cedar Village will provide a once in a life time post game experience. Just watch out for the SWAT teams.

Go bowling in the Union. Easy and cheap way to spend an evening right on campus. Will bring back middle school bowling birthday party vibes.

Go for an adventure on the CATA. No matter where you ride one of these suckers, something interesting will happen. I promise.

Take a class just for fun. Make sure you devote at least one elective credit to a class that you actually enjoy attending.

Learn all of the fight song and our alma mater. If you don’t regularly attend sporting events you may need to brush up on your fight song lyrics. Even if you attend every single sporting event, you likely still do not know the alma matter. Get studying.

See a Wells Hall movie. Not only is this more fun, free, on campus entertainment, they have genuinely good movies and sometimes even early releases.

Visit the Planetarium. Learn and be amazed by stars. Win win.

Create unforgettable Spartan memories. We only get to do this once… let’s do it right.
