Kitchen fire at Plato’s Diner causes major traffic

No injuries were reported

A fire at Plato’s Diner this afternoon has caused major traffic along Route 1 according to several witnesses.

The fire started in the kitchen and was believed to be accidental. No injuries were reported.

Witnesses took to the anonymous social media application, Yik Yak, to describe what they saw.

“There was a big plume of smoke coming from the roof, like 12 fire trucks, roads blocked off by cops, etc,” said one person, “I was walking along the road and was definitely passed by more than five trucks. Seven at the least.”

Some anonymous posters have been joking about the incident, saying “I just dropped my mixtape at Plato’s” and “When Plato’s hands you the aux.”

Until repairs are made Plato’s will be closed.
