What senior year honestly feels like

It’s the most highly anticipated and dreaded year for any college student

Finally I made it to my last year and it is nothing like I expected. So I’m going to explain to you what senior year of college feels like in five words.

Tired

After four years of countless 8am classes, working right after and coming home to do homework and take care of my other responsibilities a girl gets tired.

By senior year I am so ready to sleep in every day and literally do nothing. Can somebody say ‘Senioritis’?

Worried

The next step after undergrad is deciding whether or not one will go to graduate school, work full time, join the military, etc. For me I have decided to take a gap year and then hopefully get into Veterinary School and become a Veterinarian. Not to mention the grades, GPA and GRE score needed to get into Veterinary School. Yikes!!

I am also so worried about how I am going to maximize the time in my gap year and gain so many experiences and travel in such a short time.

Depressed

Sadly, I realized that after undergrad I won’t be able to use the “I’m only in college and don’t know how to do anything” excuse anymore. Also, it dawned on me and my other senior friends that these four years in college have gone by so fast and that we are about to seriously become living and working adults. And we just don’t feel ready for that yet.

Excited

Finally so close to being done. No more general education courses that I have to take and that I’m not really interested in. No more classes for at least a year. No more stressing about grades or GPA’s or Finals for at least a year.

Graduating seems so perfect.

Relaxed

After I realized that I can’t go back in time to my sophomore days and that I can’t change any of my grades from previous classes. And after all the hype has died down, I’ve just accepted and am content with graduating and starting a new chapter in my life.
