Maryland looks to rebound after loss to UNC

The Terps lost to No. 9 UNC 89-81 Tuesday night and will look to get back in the win column against Saint Francis

Don’t worry my fellow Terps, Maryland’s losing ways are over.

On Tuesday, No. 2 Maryland fell to No. 9 UNC in the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge, a matchup that was played in Chapel Hill, N.C. Sophomore point gawd guard* Melo Trimble scored a game-high 23 points and also added a career-high 12 assists, notching his third career triple-double as the Terps fell to 6-1.

Newcomer Rasheed Sulaimon, who is more than familiar with playing against the Tar Heels, scored 18 points, 15 of which came from 3-point range.

Maryland will try and bounce back versus St. Francis (PA) (3-3) before heading to New York to take on UConn. The Red Flash will try and break Maryland’s 17-consecutive home win streak and win their first game on the road. St. Francis lost their season opener to then-No. 19 Notre Dame 87-56.

St. Francis has lost to its last four ranked opponents by an average of 37.5 points…yeah, don’t expect this one to be close. Maryland, as everyone knows oh so well, has one of the best, if not the best, home crowds in all of college basketball.

FUN FACT

The two schools have only met once previously, with Maryland winning the lone matchup on Dec. 30, 1955.

Oh yeah…you may be able to get one of these:
