Three reasons JMU has the best football team in Virginia

Did someone say ESPN College Gameday?

We're up for hosting ESPN College Gameday. AGAIN.

According to The Breeze, our home game on October 14th against Villanova is on the short list for ESPN College Gameday.

Who was the last VA team to host Gameday? JMU in 2015. Before that? Tech… a decade ago.

Despite only being in the FCS, FBS teams are terrified of us

Yep, we've destroyed Southern Methodist and East Carolina (and they paid us $300,000 to beat them) and our win over Virginia Tech in 2010 has been referred to as the greatest FBS/FCS upset other than Appalachian State vs. Michigan.

Our 47 million dollar budget is the largest athletic budget of any non-FBS program, according to USA Today. When West Virginia's head coach Dana Holgerson was asked about preparing to play ECU after they lost to us, he said "James Madison could beat about anybody in the country right now."

We are a force to be reckoned with.

We are the NATIONAL. FREAKING. CHAMPIONS.

North Dakota State University thought their 5-year semi-final streak was safe. Then we came along and not only beat them but went on to win the championship against Youngstown State University Penguins, successfully claiming our second national title, AND we became the first-ever Colonial Athletic Association team to obtain multiple national titles–and we're not stopping there.

Our 2017-18 season is off to a successful start with a 34-14 win over ECU and a 52-10 win over East Tennessee State. We're hungry for more and our opponents better get ready to bow down to the crown because we are the freaking Dukes of JMU!
