Everything I want to say to my friends in Greek Life

I may not understand it but that’s not gonna stop me from cheering you on, girl

To my best friends in Greek Life:

I miss you, but don’t worry, I’ve totally been online stalking your sorority bidding process so I want to take this time out of my busy schedule of classes, naps, and unnecessary snacking to tell you CONGRATULATIONS! You have found your home away from home with a new group of girls and I am so happy that you will be surrounded by people that want to make you a better person (although I’m not sure if that’s possible).

Although I don’t understand the sorority life completely, I know it must be pretty cool if you’re doing it. Also you guys will look really cute wearing your letters and going to formals and I’m so excited to stalk your instagram accounts now.

I’m being honest when I say that I’m happy for you, I swear. But I can’t help but be jealous of all of the new best friends you’ll be making…your new sisters. I hope you will remember me, one of your first sisters, despite the new #squad you’ll be a part of.

You’ll be making new memories with your new sisters. They’ll be the ones you turn up with on the weekends, they’ll hear about your hook-up stories before anyone else. You’ll have inside jokes with them and sorority lingo that I won’t understand. They’ll see you at your worst and at your best and love you all the same. Just like I do.

Even if I can’t be there for you since I’m miles away at a different school I hope you remember the sisterhood you and I share, too. I hope you remember that time you gave me a hair tie to tie up my shirt when I spilled juice on it in elementary school and that time I helped you choose the perfect outfit before a first date and the best instagram filter and caption for your selfies. I especially hope you never forget all of our spontaneous sleepovers or gossip sessions, and how we’ve watched each other grow up and move on to big things, like college. I will never forget these moments; these moments are what make you my sister, too.

Your family is getting bigger now, and I am so happy for you and the people that will be a part of your life now because of Greek life. You found your place at college and I couldn’t be prouder. I know you’ll make the most out of this opportunity, and I hope you know I’ll be cheering you on from all the way over here. And even though I know you’re gonna have to make a lot of crafts, which you hate, I’ll always be here to give you some tips on how to get glitter out of your hair, if you need them. Go get ‘em sister!

With Love,

Your best friend that doesn’t really get Greek Life, but supports you nonetheless
