Iowa State is one of the most sleep deprived schools in the country

It’s probably from all those late nights ‘studying’

It’s not a surprise that college students do not get the correct amount of hours for sleeping. It is said that college students sleep the least of any other age. Iowa State is no exception. There is probably a reason the Parks Library is open until 2am.

A new study conducted by Jawbone ranked Iowa State at 108th for most sleep deprived schools.

Our student body only gets around 6.98 hours of sleep on the weekdays and 7.38 on the weekends.  Bed time for us Cyclones is usually around 12:30am on weekdays and 1:24am on the weeknights.

According to Jawbone, “The tougher the school, the later the students go to bed.”

Let’s be thankful we are not military students who average only about 6.25 hours a night. Yikes. Here at Iowa State we are keeping life interesting, even if that means a few less hours of sleep.
