Three suspects were involved with an armed robbery, kidnapping and a car chase

Three men were arrested for armed robbery and kidnapping at Domino’s early Thursday morning.

This past Thursday, November 3rd at about 2:40am, Iowa City police responded to a call about an armed robbery at Domino’s pizzeria on 529 S. Riverside Drive in Iowa City. According to a news release from Iowa City police, two of three suspects reportedly entered the Domino’s carrying firearms and demanding money. Four employees handed over cash to the suspects before being forced at gunpoint into the pizzeria’s walk in cooler while the suspects fled. It is reported that no one was injured.

Hours later, North Liberty police noticed a vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle from the Domino’s robbery and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle refused to pull over, leading to a chase with officers. The vehicle stopped near Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville where three suspects exited and attempted to flee on foot. Officers managed to catch the suspects and took them into custody.
